Did this as a commission for an animal campaign with peers. The idea was to portray animal relationships with humans, so what better way to get inspiration than going to the zoo and sketch. Despite being a fearsome creature, the hyena seemed quite calm and gentle while I drew. I thought of a young boy raising a hyena cub, hence making both of them bond.
